ABOUT HOPE FOR URUGUAY
Together, we are a changing the spiritual destiny of Uruguay.
We are Terry & Beth Trussell. Our vision is to change the Spiritual Destiny of Uruguay, South America. For us that means living and serving in Uruguay.
We are part of the Church of God denomination, although we serve through HOPE FOR URUGUAY, a non-profit organization. Hope for Uruguay is committed to launching and igniting a church planting movement.
A Church Planting Movement occurs when a network of churches forms and intentionally multiples. Our mission is to assist the network of churches in planting 50 New churches in the atheist country of Uruguay.
WHO WE ARE.
We are Terry & Beth Trussell, Your Missionaries to Uruguay.
Unlike my wonderful wife Beth, I have lived in Tennessee all my life. I grew up in Hixson, TN with my parents B.T. & Wilma Trussell and two brothers Danny and Mike. We have been in the family restaurant business for more than 30 years with the last 8 running my own BBQ place.
I have always had a great heart for missions, serving in urban missions for many years in Chattanooga’s Inner City and by serving in short term mission projects in countries such as Guatemala, Trinidad, & Tabago.
I consider myself a crazy football fan with a strong affection for the Tennessee VOLs and the Colts. I’m hoping to learn the game of soccer, but I don’t know if you can teach an old dog new tricks.
I am a preacher’s kid so that means I am not really from everywhere. I was born in Pulaski, TN but just lived there a few short months and have lived in places such as Denver, Nashville, Townsend, and Chattanooga. I attended Lee University back when it was Lee College and studied Intercultural Studies (Missions). I love to paint and create, scrapbook, read and watch movies in my free time.
God has blessed us with three beautiful daughters. Our eldest daughter Autumn lives in Cleveland, TN with our 9-year-old granddaughter Madeline. Our middle daughter Olivia works at an inner-city school in Chattanooga, TN and serves as Children’s Pastor at her home church. Her husband Adam is the Director of Ministries at Metropolitan Tabernacle Church. Our youngest daughter Sydney is an English teacher in the public schools of Uruguay. Her husband Carlos serves as the assistant to the Overseer of Uruguay for the Church of God. We are so grateful that our girls are serving the Lord with purpose.
Your generosity makes a difference.
Together, we can change the spiritual destiny of the forgotten nation of Uruguay, South America.
